Southwestern Turkey to Thira (Santorini) without going to Athens
Any suggestions for mid-july travel from anywhere in SE Turkey (Bodrum, Cesme, Marmaris, etc.) to get by ferry or air to Thira/ Santorini? Any port of entry by way of Rhodes, Kos, or Chios is totally great.Trying to avoid taking an overnight ferry or a lay-over flight would be great.
Searching on the below ferry portals isn't being successful but i've seen on other threads that it's possible (Kos > Thira).
If it's not possible, any other suggestions for the striking beauty of Santorini. I know it's touristy and expensive but its amazingly beautiful for first timers such as my wife.

There's a Blue Star ferry 3 times a week, MWF, leaving Rhodes at 5pm that stops at Kos and then continues on, reaching Santorini around 2am. Although Santorini's not showing up in the July timetable it's been a fixed stop on that route for years. You can contact Blue Star to confirm.http://www.bluestarferries.com/site/content.asp?sel=624&loc=2
You can get to Rhodes from Bodrum and Marmaris and to Kos from Bodrum.

The main ferry links are:Bodrum - Kos.
Marmaris - Rhodes.
Ferries are every 2 days from Rhodes or Kos to Santorni. Timetables I don't think are out, maybe a week or two after Greek Easter I would guess.
There is very little, if any, choice of ferry timings, you just have to take what is available, probably landing you in Santorini around 24:30. The reason is their main purpose is for an arrival in Piraeus early morning. The Santorini stop is just made for tourists.
There is an additonal ferry 'Preveli' from Rhodes to Santorini via Crete 2 days a week currently Thur, Sun. One of those may give a more sensible arrival time in Santorini.
