Ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan / PV????

Hey guys,

We are planning on taking ferry, just as foot passengers from La Paz ideally to PV at the end of April. Does this service still exists or do we HAVE to take it to Mazatlan???

Does anyone know how much it costs???

And how long from Mazatlan to PV???

Thanks so much, really appreciate any info XXXXX

$790.00 pesos for foot passenger and additional $770.00 for a cabin

Have to take the bus to Vallarta

There has never been a La Paz to PV ferry,
there was a Cabo to PV ferry in the 1990's...
So yes you HAVE to go via Mazatlan..

You can also take a ferry from La Paz over to Topolobampo, which is significantly north of Mazatlan. Much shorter trip across the Sea of Cortez, but a much longer bus ride down to PV.

See BajaFerries.com. In consideration to the post on #4, take the ferry across to Mazatlan and a bus down to Pto Vallarta.

The Mazatlan ferry is over night so you arrive in the morning ... and it leaves every other day

The Topo ferry will leave you off late at night not close to a bus station ... but goes every day

There is no ferry service from La Paz to PV.
The ferry runs from La Paz to either Topolobampo or Mazatlan.

I took the ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan in February 2012. It cost $978 pesos for a salon ticket, meaning that I slept in the main cabin. It costs more for a private cabin. The ferry left at 6pm-ish and arrived at 10am the next morning.

The ferry does not leave everyday. I believe they leave from La Paz to Mazatlan every Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday I'm sure of, because that's the one I took. You'll need to double-check yourself what the other day is. I know that tickets can be booked online, because that's what an American couple I met did. I don't know the site.

The sunset on the ferry was breathtaking: http://www.theseraphicrealm.com/2012/03/01/the-peace-la-paz/img_2589/

How is the ferry?
I am a lady traveling on my own and wonder if I should spring for a cabin? Any advice from those that have been on it.
