Cost of Tour Guide in Upper Egypt
Does any one have a good estimate of what it would cost per day for a good tour guide for Luxor / Aswan. We are 4 adults and would like to see Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hepshetsut, and Habu Temple one day, Dendara, Karnak, and, Luxor the second, and then Edfu and Kom Ombo the third on our way to Aswan.2
We just came back from Egypt where did almost exactly what you are planning to do. We had an excellent guide who arranged everything for 3 days in Cairo as well as arranged for us to meet a colleague of his who took us from Aswan to Abu Simble. Abdo Elahamy is the guide and his email address is abdo.ellahamy@yahoo.com. He is an excellent guide who is very proud of his country and loves to show it off. He charged about $1000.00 for 4 days in Cairo and that included most admissions. He picked us up at our hotel every morning. The cost of the Abu Simble tour was about $270.00. Our guide picked us up at our ship and we drove to Abu Simble. It is about a 285km from Aswan. You can fly, but it is more costly. I do not know how much more. We left with the 10:30 AM convoy.I cannot recommend Abdou highly enough!
I hope this helps.

I would say the the price of a tour guide in Upper Egypt will be LE 150 per day (excluding the tipping).Dendara is way far from Luxor and this will make it extra cost for the guide to make a trip to it.
