Your profile doesn't say where you're from and most of your posts seem to be questions so we can't really tell much about you..but...
How do you define a "good" hostel?
How do you define a "good vibe" (or "good social vibe" as in other posts)?
One of the most common questions asked on this (and other) forum is about hostels--with many of them about Amsterdam.
I suggest that since you didn't bother to read the FAQs (top of the page) before posting this question that you go directly to the Seach box (upper right corner) and do a search for Amsterdam hostel. I know you'll come up with lots and lots of posts on that very subject with more responses that you would get here, now.
And since you seem to be looking for more hostels (good vibe, and good social vibe) that you do searches for those various cities as well.
At some point, people on the forum get tired of the same question asked over and over without any attempt on the part of the poster to do any research before asking. I prefer to help people with new queries, or those that say "I've done searches and haven't found what I'm looking for".
So if I sound snippy in my reply, well, I think you've earned it.

It's just a hostel - no more than that.
The price is good, the breakfast is OK (included in the tariff) - and the beds are fine.
It's in the centre of The Red-Light.
I've stayed there a few times.
Not The Ritz, or its prices either - and I tend to use it just as a B&B and nowt else.
Does me perfect.

4Have to agree with sfgirl and eurotrash.
How is anyone able to give competent advice when the OP tells us nothing about himself (assuming he is a he - we don't even know that) - a "good" hostel for a 20 year old male may not endear itself to a 40/50/60 year old female. We don't know when the OP intends to visit or for how long. We don't know what his/her interests are. We don't know how much he/she is willing to spend etc, etc, etc.
If the OP wants usable advice he/she needs to define what he/she is looking for a bit more precisely.

Please define "good".
less than 100 dolllars?
Everything in the Netherlands is priced in euros, so please convert your budget into that currency (besides that, "dollars" can refer to US, Canadian, Singaporean, Hong Kong, Taiwanese and many other dollars...)

8@sfgirl42 So I am searching for a good hostel in Amsterdam. There are thousands of hostels here, and not many are very good or good value for money at all. Then, as you suggested, I went to the Hostels section of Amsterdam here in the LP destination guide, and found very little, none of which had availablility for tonight.
So why do you get annoyed when someone posts something you have read many times before? Does it take up too much bandwidth for LP? If you don't like it, don't look or reply. Grow up.
