Trekking/Camping in Almaty Tian Shan Mountains - LOOKING 4partners Jul-Aug

Hi,

I will be travelling to Almaty from Australia in early July until late August and will be doing some mountaineering/trekking/camping in the Almaty region of Tian Shan mountains as well as few weeks expedition in Pamir Mountains in Kyrgyzstan.

Did climbing around Almaty Tian Shan region mountains last year, climbed few peaks and loved it! Going to do more this year.
If anyone is going to be in Almaty in July-August this year and interested in climbing up to 4000+m, camping under the stars, multi-day trekking over glaciers, etc let me know. It's more fun with other people around.
This is a proper camping/trekking, meaning carrying everything on yourself, sleeping in a tent, no facilities whatsoever, multi day trekking on different terrain, just FYI.

Itinerary is not decided, so open to any suggestions (Kazakhstan Almaty region of Tian Shan mountains etc or Kyrgyzstan) as to what treks/peaks climbed/etc can be done. Preferably something multi-day, not too crowded.

Cheers!

Hi I may be in the area in late August or earlier if my plans go awry. Experienced climber, well used to roughing it. Do you have a sat phone number or similar so I can contact you when you are in Kazakhstan

Once I'm in Almaty in July, I will PM you my local mobile number.
Could you PM me some info about yourself?

Cheers!

Hi

A friend and myself will be doing the Terskej-Alatau-Traverse in Tian Shan (south of Karakol) and explore some other areas of Kyrgyzstan between 29th of July and August 11th. We will set out from Bishkek however, since the border crossing near Kegen seems to be closed (Almaty was our previous flight option). Otherwise trekking up the Karkara Valley would have been nice.

Cheers,
Johannes
