Beach destination wedding venues in ThailandMy fiancé and I are planning a beach wedding in Thailand in 2013. We want it to be relatively simple for our guests to travel to (from Australia, Laos and Malaysia), so we were thinking potentially Koh Samed (easy to travel from Bangkok) or someone close to Phuket.
We have a week of holidays coming up, so we’re planning to go to Phuket and check out some potential wedding venues around the area. Has anyone got any recommendations? We’re looking at a large-ish wedding (80+ people); nothing too over-the top formal, just a beautiful beach, friendly Thai hospitality and hopefully an organized wedding planner to help take care of the details. Any experiences / suggestions very welcome.
Thanks so much.

1This depends what time of year the wedding is. If in July, August or September it is best to steer clear of the Andaman and have the wedding on Koh Samui. This is also easy to get to via BKK, and there are even direct flights from Malaysia.
If you want a nice, less built-up area than Phuket then try Khao Lak. It is around one hour north of Phuket.

2My friend had a wedding in Phuket at Kata Beach Resort. The hotel did a very good job of the organization.
This website should help you http://www.katagroup.com/kata-beach/wedding-and-honeymoons.htm

3I stayed at the SriLanta on Koh Lanta and saw people getting married. Looked very nice.
Also the Pimalai on Koh Lanta was geared up for marriage ceremonies, also very nice.
Koh Lanta is easy to get to when you fly into Krabi. Just something for you to consider.
