Tailored suits in Bangkok

Hey guys,

Im going to be in BKK at the beginning of April for 3 days.
I need to get a tailored suit for a weding.
Im staying near the Khoasan Road, so would prefer around that location.

What kind of price should i expect to pay and what materials are good quality?

Price? Depends on the quality and your bargaining skills! And wether you get one in KSR or elsewhere!

Quality? How should we know? Cotton? Silk? Wool? Have a look at what expensive suits are made of over here, then match it there, choose your colour, style, lining, etc, and you will pay a fraction of what a really decent suit would cost over here.

A tailor around KSR that will churn out a suit in 3 days... well you're going to get what you pay for.

Do your friend a favour and go buy a proper suit off the rack at a department store so you don't embarrass him at his wedding. It will look infinitely better than the cheap-ass poor excuse for a suit that they're going to stick you with on KSR. It's simply not possible to make a suit in 3 days. Period.

Don't pay more than 50 bucks and if he cannot finish it within 3 hours then he's not very efficient. This should include 3 fittings - one every hour, so sit in a nearby bar and let him come to you. By the end of a dozen Changs it will fit beautifully!

Rule of thumb- tailors in Thailand are rubbish. You might find a good one, but how lucky do you feel?

Expect to pay around 37.500 baht for a Vitale Barberis Canonico marino wool (110s) tailored suit with floating canvas.
It will take about 3 weeks to finish, but you will look good in it.
