2 week south east Asia itinerary

Hello all. We are going to south east Asia for just over 2 weeks. Can you have a look at the following itinerary and let me know what you think:

29/9 - arrive in HK
30/9 - HK
1/10 - HK - fly to Kota kinabulu in the evening
2-4/10- trek up Kota kinabulu - tour already booked
5/10 - fly to KL am
6/10- KL
7/10 - KL - midday flight to Tioman Island
8/10 - tioman island
9/10 - tioman island
10/10 - am flight to SIN
11/10 - sin
12/10 - sin
13/10 - sin
14/10 - am flight back home

Our main concern was time spent in Singapore. Is it too long. Can we go on a day trip somewhere else from our itinerary. 4 nights seems like quite alot!

Thanks

Alexisonsmith

No! Too long? Are you having a laugh? If anything you should be doubling your time AT LEAST in all of these places!!!!!

I totally agree with Mike. Why not take out Singapore completely and spend more time in all of the other places?

Enjoy Malaysia!

Skip singapore.. You have too much time in KL as well. If you have time go to Penang or Sarawak in Malaysia.

You could do a day trip or an overnight to Batam or Bintan.

Is Penang really worth it? More than Singapore? Also I thought 2 days in KL would be fine!? no?

It depends on what you are interested in. Singapore has much more to offer, Pinang is smaller and less developed.

2 days in KL are fine.

Skip Tioman and fly to Redang instead - much better beaches.

So which place is better to go? Kutching or Georgetown?

Kuching is much more interesting in my opinion. It has more the flair of a wild, colonial era jungle town. In addition, there are lots of national parks near Kuching. Georgetown is just a big city. But compare by yourself:

The area around Kuching (check the west Sarawak galleries):

while this is Georgetown:
