Mixed race couples in SEA?

Hi all,

I am planning on travelling around SEA (thailand, vietnam, cambodia, laos and malaysia) in october with my girlfriend and was wondering if anybody could give me any info on travelling as a mixed race couple? We are both from england, I am black and she is white (although she is a bit tanned and often mistaken to be asian, spanish, italian, greek and anything else other than white british lol) anyway i was wondering if any other mixed race couples have been travelling and can tell us if there is anything we should be aware of, places we should avoid etc? We have been researching and heard/read that we should probably pretend we are married, and tell people we're christian as opposed to atheist.

Any feedback is much appreciated, also this is my first post so i apologise if its in the wrong place

thanks

Why tell people you are Christian?

I seen black people in SEA they seemed OK but did not talk to any of them. I dont think you will have any problems.

In 20 years of traveling to asia I've never been asked by anyone what my religion is.

I remember being asked about that a lot in India, but then they tend to be nosey as hell there.
