Qualified Special Ed. Teacher looking to teach abroadGreetings,
I am a certified sped teacher from the U.S. I am currently teaching in the UAE. I am getting the itch to try somewhere different. I have looked at the U.S. Schools Abroad list http://www.state.gov/m/a/os/c1684.htm, but I need to know which schools offer sped programs. I am open for pretty much anywhere. Any SpED teachers out there have some advice?

2What sort of special needs? Learning disabilities, developmentally disabled, mentally retarded, autism spectrum, etc?
I am not sure that it matters which schools have special education programs as increasingly the schools on the list you have already seen are looking for special education teachers as they expand to meet the special needs of the DOS students.
DOS Office of Overseas Schools Special Education page. The first link on this page is document from this office listing schools that offer special needs services.
Is there a part of the world that interests you? I can tell you some about schools in SEAsia and South America.

I just sent you an email. Can give you lots of advice on Australian schools. I think you would have a great experience here.
I am also looking for work in special needs schools in the UAE I am a qualified teacher (performing arts) working with special needs students.
any recommendations/advice on good schools to approach where to live etc would be amazing!
thanks and look forward to hearing from you.
