Southside Festival June 2012 - Accommodation options?
Morning! Can anyone give me some guidance on where to find cheap accommodation near this festival? My friends do not want to camp (unfortunately), and I am having trouble finding information about this.
We also won't have a car, so we will need to be near public transport to the festival site.
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Have you looked at http://www.southside.de/en/event4/how-to-get-there/ which will tell you your transportation options, basically a special bus from the Tuttlingen train station, and also has some information on possible places to stay, probably all in German on that website. Anywhere between Stuttgart and Singen on that train line will enable you to access Tuttlingen easily without transferring, but being closer to Tuttlingen will be much quicker. Go to http://www.bahn.com , enter From: S To: Singen (Hohentwiel) and you will get travel options. To keep expenses down, check use only local transportation so the fast long-distance trains that cost more won't be shown and for which you can't use a Baden-Wuerttemberg group day train ticket. Probably best to choose a IRE train as it will be faster, but a normal regional train will have more stops. On one of the options, then click the > to the left of it, and then again click the > to show all stops. That will show you good possibilities of places to stay. Then most places have a website of the form www.PLACENAME.de, just use the actual place name. If at first you aren't given an option for English, click on Tourismus which might be able to be changed to English. If not, go to Hotels or Accommodations or the like and see what's on offer. If you have any problems, use your computer browser's translation facility.

I just remembered that Tuttlingen is also on another railway line between Ulm and Neustadt(Schwarzw) which is also very scenic east of Tuttlingen. Do like I suggested before, just use From: Ulm To: Neustadt(Schwarzw), and also check those places along this route. That will give you some more possibilities, and again a Baden-Wuerttemberg group day train ticket can be used.3
railway network map Baden-WürttembergThe stops in yellow are served hourly. The ones in red half- hourly, but this is only southbound from Engen - thus of no use in your case.
TUTicket tariff zone map with train and bus lines. A mini group (up to 5 persons) day ticket inside this area is from EUR 4,00 to 9,00 (depending on the number of zones needed).
You may still want to re-check the connections with the DB timeable
Tuttlingen and area accommodation brochure
And the next bigger towns (does not mean that in the smaller towns/villages between there is no accommodation available).
Donaueschingen
Sigmaringen
Rottweil

If you want an answer from loz77, I would send a private message through this website. To do this, just click on the user name to the left of one of the appropriate posts. Perhaps (s)he has lost interest in the thread and will never check it again. But if they have marked being told about private messages from this website, a notification will be sent to their actual e-mail address that someone has sent them a personal messageADVERTISEMENT
