Hiking in the Julian Alps

Hi,

I'm heading to Slovenia in a couple of months time with my wife and was looking for information on day walks and hiking guides for the Bovec area. We go hiking fairly regularly but as we're in South-East England there's not much in the way of mountains for us to practise on!

I'm assuming that most of the high ground will be under snow, so I was looking for recommendations of low level day walks in the Bovec area. Also, if anyone can recommend a hiking guide for the area that might be useful - I've seen the Ciccerone guide for hiking in the Julian Alps but was wondering if there were any others.

Thanks,

DD

Hi!
There are lots of low level walks around Bovec, the one to Soca for instance. Get in touch with JoffiTours in Bovec and ask for Dragan, he'll fix you up and they also have accommodation at Jojo Apartments.

You and your wife will love it! The ski resort on top of Bovec at Kanin can have snow until May but under 2000m the snow has usually already gone.

Cheers
