Pics carnaval Oruro

Just uploaded my pics of the Oruro carnaval of this year. The first 5 are of the Anata Andina on thursday, the rest of saturday and sunday. Click on this link to watch them.
Had a great time there, hope it brings some memories back to you also. Or maybe inspires you to go there once.

@3, No idea. Did not use a tour company. Booked a room far ahead (which is necessary if you want a good one) and arrived in Oruro thursday at noon (came from La Paz with a local bus). On friday I looked around to buy a seat for watching the parades which succeeded in the evening. Then watched the parades on saturday and sunday and left Oruro on monday (quite easy to get transport at that day).

On thursday morning just went to the rodoviaria of La Paz and took a (basis but good) bus to Oruro (25 Bs, about 4 hrs.), heaps of busses on this leg.
Already booked a room far ahead in Gran Hotel Sucre which was expensive (85 USD/night) but almost all accomodation is expensive with the carnaval and its a good hotel. The night before the carnaval package (3 nights) I had to pay 200 Bs for an extra night on thursday.
Time allowing I recommend to arrive thursday at about noon and to watch Anita Andina when thousands of indigenous people are entering the city and dancing in the streets of Oruro (see the first pics of my album).
On friday there are no carnaval activities but at that day you have to look around to get a good seat for watching the parades on saturday and sunday (I bought a perfect place to sit for 220 Bs valid for 2 days at the Avenida 6 de Agosto).
And I loved the Oruro carnaval.
