Stay in Hue, Danang or Hoi An?

Stay in Hue, Danang or Hoi An?
If I wanted to visit central Vietnam and hopefully get to visit Hue, Danang, My Son and Hoi An but can only stay in one place and make day trips to the rest, which is the best place to stay? Hue, Danang or Hoi An? (Note: the international flight will be landing in Danang airport)1
I think that what you propose is not possible - you cannot stay in one place and do "day trips" to the other two.Hue and Hoi An are the most interesting and about three hours apart by road even if you travel directly by car and go through the tunnel. So a return day trip from one to the other would involve six hours of travel.

You could stay in DN and cut 30 minutes off your travel time to Hue but why do that since DN a bit of a dump? Better to stay in Hue and see Hue (which is worth more then a day trip anyway) then in Hoi An to see the rest.
