Nakhon Patham, Jesada Technik Museum and other daytrips from BangkokHi guys
Has anyone been to Nakhon Pathom near Bangkok?
It's home to the Phra Pathom Chedi and, apparently, an old car museum called the Jesada Technik Museum.
If so, is it worth the trip? How did you get to the musuem? Or are there any other do-it-yourself day trips from Bangkok you'd recommend? Or perhaps sights in Bangkok not mentioned in the guidebooks?
(I've been to Bangkok many times and seen all the sights, inc Ayuthaya and Kanchanaburri, but have a day to kill!).
Also, does anyone know of a cheap guest house within easy walking of the Khao San that's likely to have rooms after 6pm?

2This Chedi is worth a 1 hour or so stopover while on the way to/from Kanchanaburi. I don't know anything about the old car museum.
You might want to spend a day in Hua Hin, this will allow you to stop by the Nakhon Pathom Chedi as it's on the way to/from Hua Hin. At Hua Hin you could wander around the Sofitel Hotel, get a massage on the beach, buy some seashell trinkets on the beach road next to the Sofitel and then head back to Bangkok while stopping in Nakhon Pathom. You could also go to the Erawan waterfall in Kanchanaburi as it's a beautiful waterfall.
You could visit Hua Hin, see the Erawan waterfall and visit the Nakhon Pathom Chedi before returning to Bangkok. Easy to do in 1 day although you might want to spend a few hours at the Erawan waterfall. Hope this gives you some ideas.
