Malaysia 2-13 May 2012. What to do???Hey,
I'm arriving on the 1st of May in Singapore and I'm planning to travel (fly) directly through to Kuala Lumpur. I would like to see Kuala Lumpur first (highlights), before I'm travelling further through Malaysia.
Could you please tell me what is nice to see/do in Malaysia. Please keep in mind, I'm travelling alone (transport choice/tours), I have a suitcase with me from the months before and I would like to rest for like 2 days at a beach at an island or nice place at the coast. I'm able to fly with Air Asia around Malaysia.
On the 13th of May I have to arrive in Singapore, as I'm flying back the next day from Singapore to the Netherlands.
I hope you all can give me some tips :) Thank you very much in advance.

1From Singapore you could travel overland to Melaka, KL, Taman Negara, Perhentian islands (beach) and then fly from Kota Bharu to Singapore.
Doable in 11 days, if you limit yourself to one day in Melaka and two days in KL.
The other option is to do the west coast (KL, Cameron highlands, Pinang and Langkawi for the beach).
See here for some photos of all these places: http://www.molon.de/galleries/Malaysia/

3Thank you very much.
My travel plan is now:
May 1 - 19:10-20:10 Singapore-Kuala Lumpur
May 2 - Sightseeing Kuala Lumpur
May 3 - Sightseeing Kuala Lumpur
May 4 - Tour to Melakka
May 5 - Tour to Cameron Highlands
May 6 - Travelling to Taman Negara
May 7 - Taman Negara
May 8 - Taman Negara
May 9 - Travelling to Kota Bharu --> Perhentian islands
May 10 - Perhentian islands
May 11 - Perhentian islands
May 12 - Perhentian islands
May 13 - 17:10-18:05 Kota Bharu-Kuala Lumpur
22:30-23:30 Kuala Lumpur-Singapore
May 14 - 23:55-07:10+1 Singapore-Amsterdam
What would you advice me: to sleep at the Cameron Highlands and travel from there further per van to Taman Negara or to go back to Kuala Lumpur and take the jungle train to Taman Negara. I'm thinking about to book the Travellers Home accommodation at Taman Negara. And as May 6 is this year Buddha's birthday does anybody know if public transport is going?
Thank you very much. All tips are welcome:)

4I wonder if there is a bus on May 1st in the late afternoon or evening from Singapore to Melaka. If yes, taking that makes more sense than flying directly to KL, as Melaka lies between KL and Singapore.
It makes sense to spend a night in Melaka.
The tour to CH on May 5 would be quite a rush, because it should take 2-3 hours to get from KL to CH (and 2-3 hours to get back).
Aren't there direct flights from Kota Bharu to Singapore?
