If you like psytrance the black moon party is much better, less drunken dickheads. FMP is just a circus, and not a particularly entertaining one IMNSHO.

Booking ahead sometimes can be good - but just for bookend dates (when flying in & out) otherwise you can just go & see digs in person before committing :)

Self inflicted stupity perhaps. Yes i have witnessed the same here. But have also watched them get beaten to within inches of deaths door by the Thais. Most often in the bars but also in the streets grabbing at women. I just sit back light up a smoke and enjoy the free show. Saw one mohawk idiot in Hua Hin try to enter a bar not once not twice but three times. By round three was a bloody heap that got dragged to the middle of the road. The very next day five lovely euros between 50 to 65 years old decided to pull their pants down to show off their manhood. Decided right then and there i had finally had enough of drunk idiots and Hun Hin.
