My sister-in-law and I have reservation at the Game Lodge for the first week in May. It is a 6 day/6 night photo safari. Was wondering if anyone has been there and what their thoughts are. What type of clothing for that time of year and footwear? I have so many questions but I'll stop here.
I have never been out of the US but have always had a desire to go to Africa.

Hi,
I usually wore jeans and a denim jacket and gloves because of the thorns.
My guide usually wore shorts and short sleeve shirt.
Training shoes worked for me.
It can get pretty cold at night but shirt sleve warm by 10 am.

For game viewing etc. you should pack shorts/cargos, t shirts (preferably neutral and not too colourful if you're going for nature walks). In May, it gets cold at night. For night drives, make sure you wear your jacket and warm clothes.
