Tour Company or Rent a VanMy family of 11 adults will be making a cruise ship stop in St. Lucia in May. We would like to take in many sights around the island and are trying to decide if going with a tour company (and if so, which one) or renting a van would be our best option. While in St. Lucia, we would like to drive around the island taking in the gorgeous scenery, make brief stops in the villages along the way, hike in the rainforest to waterfalls, and have a snorkeling adventure. We like to stay away from most of the "tourist crowds" if at all possible.
Some things we think we wouldn't want to miss are....
Anse Cahastenat Beach for snorkeling ( is this the best beach for snorkeling)
Anse La Raye Waterfall
Vieux Fort and the Moule à Chique Lighthouse
We would appreciate any advice on "not to miss spots" and also advice on whether to go with a guide company or just forge out on our own as we usually do.
Thanks for all of your advice!

1A tour company is likely to charge you for each person. You will be far better off hiring a driver-possibly
2 vehicles to fit in your entourage, or rent a vehicle and drive yourselves. The road between Castries and
Soufriere takes 2 hours or so to drive without stops- so keep that in mind if your ship is sailing on the same
day it arrives.
