Hostels in Nicaragua

Hey!

Can anyone recommend me a quiet hostel with a garden and hammocks (by the waterfront if there is water around) in Granada, San Juan del Sur, Laguna Apoyo and Ometepe?

Muchas gracias

Not a hostel, but an inexpensive hotel in Granada. Has hammocks and garden. ( But the hammocks are out on the porch/patio. Rooms have regular beds.)

The Bearded Monkey has hammocks by the garden + they own the Monkey Hut on Apoyo, however it has changed ownership since I was there in 09 so can't vouch for it.

I would recommend Hostal Oasis in Granada. It is in a good location, has plenty of hammocks, a nice garden, and a pool! On Ometepe, El Porvenir in Santa Cruz is a great place that has lush vegetation all around, but it is not a hostel. I only paid $20/night for two people for a room with private bath, so price shouldn't be an issue. Enjoy!

I am currently in granada staying at The Panda Lodge on Calle Morazan. 2 block off the square and very clean, cheap, secure and family ran. It is a new hostel and cater to a respectable crowd. Not a highly social place but a great place and very welcoming. I pay 15 bucks of a private room. The bearded monkey sucks and very dirty. In my opinion. Maybe it was better in the past.

In Laguna de Apoyo, Hostel Paradiso (same ownership as Oasis in Granada mentioned by #3) has the hammocks and the waterfront. It is quiet most of the time.

In Ometepe, Hacienda Merida in remote Merida also meets your requirements.

Hostel Esparanza in San Juan Del Sur matches your description on what you're looking for perfectly.....quiet, garden, hammocks, on main road on ocean.

At Laguna de Apoyo, you are looking for Paradiso Hostel. It keeps itself pretty secret for some reason. It has a bar on a mesa with lounge chairs on the lake, there are a couple of hammocks. Like a previous poster said, it is quiet most of the time. The managers seem to like to take the mood of the guests, which are usually few, especially on week days. With the season picking up, there might be more partiers coming through, but when I was there, I found that, the way the place is built, there can be some music and drinking on one level, and you couldn;t hear it in the dorms or the area where the private rooms are, so everyone is kept pretty happy.
