1beau vallon beach on the main island is probably one of the most beautiful beaches i have ever been too (in 20 years of travelling). augerine guesthouse is a nice and not too expensive place there. not a resort and right on the beach.

2there are so many beautiful beaches in the Seychelles that it is hard to give you good advice...certainly beau vallon has accommodation on the beach but the beach is not very deep and is not so great for swimming....praslin and la digue have the best beaches, in my opinion...however these beaches are nice because there is no accommodation at the beach..you need to walk or cycle 2 kms (reasonably flat, but one hill to Grande Anse on La Digue)...I would suggest to look for guesthouse or specialty lodgings through the bigger webistes (e.g. expedia, tripadvisor) and see how you go..I hope that this helps

3IMO Beau Vallon was a major disappointment. Judging how “beautiful” a beach is will obviously always be a bit subjective, and I haven’t travelled for 20 years but cannot imagine that anyone would compare this beach to the best beaches in Carribean, Thailand, or indeed – beaches on La Digue (the 3rd biggest island in Seychelles).
To the original poster: my recommendation would be to spend time in La Digue, check out tripadvisor or similar websites for hotel reviews, I can’t really recommend what you’re looking for. Source d’Argent is the main beach there and it is indeed beautiful, but north of the main town, about 2km bike ride or so there is another small but lovely secluded beach. With almost white sand, palm trees and clear water. I would say you won’t find any of this at Beau Vallon, although admittedly it is very long.

4I have one advise:
Mahe, Praslin and La Digue are simply amazing, but if you REALLY want a pirate island with nobody and extremely beautiful beaches, go to Silhouette
The beaches of Silhouette are out of this world and are much better then those known beaches of Praslin, Mahe and La Digue. It is a little bit of psychological: the roads less travelled.

5I have to agree that Beau Vallon Beach is NOT what you are looking for. It is crowded and busy all the time... Far from quiet.
I am based on Mahe, so unfortunately I cannot give you great advice about the other islands... Here, however, you might be interested in Bliss-Hotel Seychelles. It's a small boutique hotel with a lovely ocean-front spa. It offers a bed & breakfast package as well as a half board option if you would like to include dinner at the elegant Lounge 8 restaurant to your daily regime. It also has it's own private beach with great snorkeling off-shore (I've spotted more than a few sea turtles there during my last snorkel sessions)!
The hotel has reasonable rates and are currently offering a long-stay package where if you book '6' nights or more you get the last night free. Please note that this hotel is not a resort... It is a secluded, beach-front boutique hotel in a paradise location.
