Visiting San Blas from Panama City for 1-2 days

Hi,

My friend and I will be traveling in Panama and would like to fit in a 1-2 day trip from Panama City to San Blas islands by plane. It looks like flights out are at 6am and back at 5pm.

Which island should we fly to? Should we stay overnight for 1 night? I understand that whatever hotel we choose will likely provide the meals as well.

We're basically interested in checking out 1-2 islands, snorkeling and seeing a bit of the Kona culture. The choice is to fly for the day or stay overnight for 1 night somewhere. We definitely don't want to spend 2+ nights.

Would appreciate your advice on the options - primarily which place to fly to and where to stay overnight if that's recommended for the best experience given our goals.

Thanks!

Spend the night there- AT LEAST. The lodge you pick will most likely provide transportation to their location and meals.
We truly enjoyed Yandup Island Lodge. Cabanas over the water, meals, & 2 tours a day included.

I am also interested 1-2 day excursion to San Blas although it seems that El Porvenir is still closed - where are you flying into?

Thanks!

Haven't decided whether we're doing it yet...

So we decided that we're definitely going to San Blas and will stay for 2 nights, March 3-5. El Porvenir is closed, so only jeep transportation is available. There are flights to other islands though.

Does anyone have recommendations for somewhere to stay in between basic $25/person shack and the $200 per person lodge?

We don't mind basic, but want relatively clean, good service, working toilet etc. Kuanidup seems to have decent reviews. It is worth it for $75/person per night? Is there a way to get there via jeep/boat?
