Cheap accom Pagudpud

Hello, we are heading up to Pagudpud for a few days soon and I was reading that there isn't much cheap accom. Is that true? We are looking for something close to the beach at under 1000 pesos a night. Will we be able to find something? Recommendations would be great, thanks!

Sorry, I meant to say that we are a family and prefer to stay in a hotel if possible. Any other suggestions?

Thanks again...

Wow, I wonder why it is so expensive. Just give me a nipa hut on the beach like in Palawan for 10 dollars a night. Maybe we'll just skip Pagupud and move on to the Visayas.

Went up to Pagudpud from Laoag last Jan 2011. The weather was terrible but we checked out Blue Lagoon.
The beach was deserted and it seemed like there was only Hannah's that had any life about the place.
The road was under construction and was sea of mud.
We checked out a small resort, they wanted P3000 for a night and their restaurant was closed
I don't want to do an injustice to the place as we were there when the weather was bad but my first impression was that Boracay has nothing to worry about. It was obviously 'chef's night off' when we went
We travelled back to Laoag and spent another night in the superb Balay de Blas
Will give it another go next time

I like the deserted beach scenario, but I guess the weather may not be so good at this time of the year. It's weird that there is no where that has a reasonable rate. Especially at low season!

Thanks for the info...

Not sure what you want? Hotel ot nipa hut. Anyway nipa huts on Palawan are now over $10 now and if you have children over 10 you will be charged extra. Hotels on the internet are expensive. There were some cheap places near to Saud Resort not sure if they are still open and cheap. PI is no longer cheap, you will have a job to find family rooms for under 600 pesos and even that will be a basic fan room.

Ya sorry, wasn't too clear. We are going to give it a shot and head there soon so I will report back if there is anything.

Thanks for all of the help.

Kapuluan Vista is on Mayraira, not Saud, dorm type rooms at 650/person. Polaris, on Saud, sometimes rents room under 1000 but if they consider it peak seaqson is likely to be higher. Google for numbers and call them up.

Thanks for all of the info. We arrived today and we didn't look too hard and found three places that were under 1000. One was on the beach and two were off the beach. All rooms were reasonable with air con. One I talked down and the other were below 1000. I don't believe it's high season just yet, but the weather is beautiful and I hope it stays that way! :)
