Hotel Mexico KL Sentral
Hey!!!I'll be having a 1 day stop over in KL on Sunday. I definitely need a place where I can possibly leave my bags and hide from that horrible heat!!! What's the cheapest hostel around KL Sentral? My flight is at 6am, therefore I'll have to catch the first bus to the airport.. ever!
Last year I stayed at YMCA, but I am looking for omething even cheaper. I read somewhere HotelMexico does offer rooms form 80MR - which wouldnt be bad. How can I possibly book a room? Does anybody have a phone number or email address??

That's about the right price for the Mexico...and its not a bad place.I prefer the Hotel Sentral but its more expensive. As I recall the Mexico has a website but its always offline(or they don't reply)..better to just walk in and choose a room.
Someone might have a phone number though.....

Phone no. listed here. dunno how current it is but?The Mexico used to have quite a good website with plenty of good pics, but has been down for around 2 years now. Guess business is so good they don't need one now.
Cheapest rooms were 80MYR around 5 years ago, probably more like 100 these days. The Y is now 118MYR.
It is Chinese new year so might be a bit tight for the cheapest rooms around KL Sentral, especially at the Mexico with only 23 rooms.
Back up would be the Florida about 250 metres away and around the same price or the New Winner right near the Mexico.

once when I had a stopover of only 12 hours or so that meant I had to get the bus back at 2am, I deemed it unnecessary to bother with a 'proper' hotel. So I rented a room above an Indian restaurant right opposite Sentral. This was 30 ringgit, back in 2009. The place was a total dive, but OK to leave my bag there, same price as the left luggage in KLCCT. Still had a chance to wander around, eat a meal or two, have a few beers and so on and then lay down for a couple of hours before I had to get the bus. But every time I've had like a real overnight stop, I've stayed at the Mexico. Good value, fridges, aircon, free internet cafe for guests, the tv is not cable though.4
Here's some info on the Florida including a phone no. and pics.5
I was in KL on Sunday/ Monday, and Chinatown was seriuosly full. We had prebooked the Swiss Inn (a/c, sheets on the bed, hot water, no window, 128 MR on booking.com ), and there were backpackers wondering around looking and asking about vacancies. Granted this was a day or two before CNY, and you'll be there a couple of days after, but there you go.
