Thanks and it certainly makes for an interesting read. I wonder when his money will end?

lol....when I met him, I 'hinted' at 'where is the money coming from'? But, not a direct question. Not my business. So we will see.

Would be interesting to know huh? But like you say, not our business. Maybe he had a really expensive house that he sold or rich relatives (I'm still on a mission to find an old rich relative).

You might find one, but whether you could convince them to leave you their money is another matter ;)

Hi,

Wow SH you certainly know how to drag a topic out! Anyway for the record I have been to the Congo (both) and to Mindanao. I agree that we should be cautious in our travels and can see why you are no too sure about where to go etc. For my part I encountered no problems at all when I went to the above and soon will be back in Mindanao.

I am not completely foolhardy, indeed take few risks, but will not be put off by extreme concern by others. Mindanao does have its problems and may not be the first port of call on all visitors lists. However I for one find that there is plenty there for me and, as indicated, will be going back there.

Your decision whether to go or not but, if you do want to go, make a careful consideration of the (limited) risk involved and do not be put off by all and sundry. Happy travels.

Brax- I don't believe I've dragged the topic out at all - in fact I thanked everyone for their advice way back at #49 and thought that would be the end of it. I've just been replying to other people's responses to me and like all threads, they've digressed off topic at times.
