Sta travel tourHi everyone
I am travelling to Vietnam from Bangkok at the end of may
As it is my first time travelling and being on my own I was thinking of joining one of then tours on the sta travel website.
It starts in Hanoi and works down to Hoi Chi Minh City and lasts for ten days
Has anyone ever been on one of these tours?
Would you recommend doing a tour or do you think I'd be better just doing it on my own?
I will be travevelling on further after this onto Cambodia and then to Thailand Thought the tour would be a good start
Any advicen would be greatly recommended

3Tours generally travel everyday and just give you an overview of the country.

4Ten days? You will be given a flavour of Vn only and with truncated trips; eg just a couple of the temples and tombs along the Perfume river in Hue area and not all six.
My fiorst ever visit to Vn was for about the same time. It was enjoyable but subsequent longer visits have been more enjoyable. Travel slowly and you will enjoy it more. If you have just ten days, perhaps stay north or south this time.

6The problem with most tours groups is they cover a lot in a short time, like Vietnam in 10 days, which means travelling most days, sometimes early starts like 5am-6am, there is quite a bit of time wasted waiting around. Also half your money will be going to the tour operator. You cant choose your rooms, restaurants and travel companions, this type of travel does suit some people. Private maybe better but more expensive still.
Must see in Vietnam, 5 Hs and S, Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, HCMC, add in a few other places, like Dalat, Mui Ne and Mekong Delta, depends what you want to do. Get a guide book and search through, what are your interests, trekking? motorbiking? If you only have 10 days then Hanoi to HCMC by train with a stop in Hue and Hoi An would be a start.
