No need to go to the Embassy as many guesthouses will do it for you for a nominal fee. From memory 3 months was about $50 us.

Lucky Lucky Motorcycles and Visa Service is only US$38 for Americans, $2 extra for next day service. You're welcome.

This morning, I went to the Vietnam Embassy in Bangkok and paid $80 USD to have it ready by Monday afternoon (ie next business day), and have only from 4pm - 4:30 pm on Monday to pick it up that day. I got back to my hostel and found out that I could have paid the same amount here and the hostel would have the visa by 9 am the next business day, There was no line up at the Embassy to get the Visa.

The non-rush price at the Vietnamese Embassy is now $60 US. I pointed out that thìs embassy`s website links to a document (dated 2009), which states that the standard visa rate is $30 US for a single entry visa. I was told that the posted information is out of date.
