HoneymoonTrip booked, arrive in Bangkok 10pm Mar. 22 and Depart Apr. 3There seems like there is so much to do and see in Thailand that my wife and I feel so overwhelmed. Being that we will only be in Thailand for about 2 weeks, I think we plan to limit our travel to Southern Thailand. We get in at 10pm on Mar.22 and depart at 8:30am from Bangkok on Apr.3 so we probably need to be back in Bangkok on Apr.2. We are planning on spending a day in Bangkok Mar.23 and either staying the night on Mar.23 and leaving Mar.24 or talking the night train from Bangkok to Southern Thailand.
Places our friends have suggested are Krabi, Ko Phi Phi, Ko Lanta, Ko Tao, Railay Beach, but we are open to suggestions.
Again we would like to spend half of our time at least lounging in some great beach areas and then having fun sightseeing, participating in an Elephant Trek, James Bond Island, and would like to see where "The Beach" was filmed, snorkeling, and kayaking. Do we need to book any of these events ahead?
I'm thinking we limit our travels to 3 nights in one location, move to another location for 3 nights, and 3 nights in our final location.
Ideally as it is our honeymoon we would like to stay in at least a 4 star hotel (stay at a 5 star hotel for one of our locations) and we have a budget around $100 USD a night, but if you know of a great 3 star in a good location that would be fine to. Also, where is the best site for pricing on hotels and activities and where do we find out about night train bookings.
1st, where is the best place for the train to arrive into?
2nd, where should we stay for the evenings of Mar.24, 25, 26 and what activities
(do we need to book these activities in advance)
3rd, Mar. 27,28, 29 (same with activities)
4th Mar. 30, 31, Apr.1 (same with activities) and do we take a night train back on Apr.2 to Bangkok (can we trust this to make our flight at 8:35am) or do we head back during the day on Apr.2 to stay the evening of Apr.2 or fly back to Bangkok late Apr.2 and stay at a hotel near the airport?
Thanks so much for your help in making this a dream trip!

1half "to see" - half beach..
23-24 march: Bangkok (with 1 day trip to Ayutthaya)
24 evening: night train to Chian Mai (arriving the 25.th in the morning)
25-26-27 march: Chiang Mai and around (Elephant,....no need to book in advance)
27 day: flight to Phuket (direct)
27-28-29-30-31-1-2 : Phuket and Koh Phi Phi (or Koh Lanta or Krabi)
2.nd april day: flight back to BKK (I would be there the night before)
but if you prefer only islands, just take a flight the 24.th and then choose 3 islands on the same side (like Phuket, Koh Phi Phi or Koh Lanta or Krabi..)..it's really easy and you can organize all your "activities" when you there

2so we probably need to be back in Bangkok on Apr.2
Do we need to book any of these events ahead?
You do realise that that is in the Gulf, don't you?
where is the best place for the train to arrive into
You can stop at Surat Thani and take a bus over, or if you want to do Tao, do that and then go to Krabi. In that case, fly back to Bkk on the 2nd.
Why don't you just start in Railay, and take it from there. No need to book ahead anywhere in March.
IMO you are over planning for a 2 week trip.

3Thank you both for your help. Because it is our honeymoon, I would prefer to book rooms ahead of time, but activities are great to just book when we arrive.
We are currently looking at 2 choices
1. Groupon has a deal that I'm very much considering for The Passage Samui Resort for 5 nights in Koh Samui, therefore we would only have 4 nights in another place, if this is what we choose, what is a good area to stay for 5 days, 4 nights? And is there enough to do on Koh Samui for both fun and relaxation?
2. From talking to our friends, because we really only have 10 days, 9 nights away from Bangkok, they said that Chang Mai should be saved for another date and just stick to Southern Thailand, I was told we should definitely do Ko Phi Phi and Krabi, and maybe one more place, any suggestions on what part of these areas that we should be looking at places to stay? Would love a nice bungalow on the beach for at least part of the stay. Would like to stay around 100 USD, but have no problem paying a bit more for a very nice place.
