Viet Nam Administrative AtlasI am trying to get a copy of the Viet Nam Administrative Atlas. It is recommended in the Vietnam lonely planet and sounds ideal for the cycling trip in Mekong Delta that I am planing. The LP says it cost <$10 in Vietnam but the only places I can find that sell it online are American and are charging $65 plus $15 postage to Australia from America. Does anyone know how I can get a copy of this in Australia? I'd don't mind paying more but $80 for a $10 book is a bit too much. Can anyone recommend any other books or maps showing smaller roads etc in southern Vietnam that I can get in Australia or online?
Thanks in advance

2You can buy a good road atlas in Vn - search back a bit we were discussing it recently (blue covered book). You could use on-line maps to plan, then buy when you arrive.
You could try posting on the on your bike branch. There may be someone (an ex pat who lives there) who would buy it for you and post it to Oz.

5The Administrative Atlas is not a road atlas. You need the VN road atlas, as #3 says. It is sold at Fahasa Bookshops and the last price I saw was 210,000 dong.
Unfortunately, it was not updated when it was reprinted, so no road that has been built in the last 5 years appears on it. You should also buy a Travel Map of Vietnam 1:1,250,000 double sided fold out map which has been updated.

6Cheers Ralph. I asked about whether it had been updated in a post about the atlas a few weeks ago and I seem to remember that one reply 'implied' that it is new therefore of course it has been updated (ho ho). My experience is that maps are often just republished with a new date and no update. Same, same!
Good to know that I can bring my old book with me to Vn this year and not need to buy a new one. Maybe see you there.
