hi anjali .... info for you, Banyuwangi area has diamond triangle, they are Ijen Crater - Alas Purwo National Park (also Pleangkung Beach) - Sukamade Turtle Beach. At this moment, we couldn't visit Ijen Crater caused this beautiful place was in Alert Status, so ... skipping Ijen Crater. such as my last comment, after reach Ketapang ferry port, visiting first to Alas Purwo National Park, many animals here : banteng (bos javanicus), deer, pigs, peacocks. afterward to Sadengan Savannah. then to G-Land if you like surfing. Continue to Sukamade. Banyuwangi to Sukamade = 4-5 hours by jeep. Sukamade is the East Java National Resource Conservation which is in charge of turtle's perpetuation. you can see a female turtle lays more than one hundred eggs on the sandy beach. The female turtles usually start landing at 7.30pm and return to the sea at 12pm. November to March is the peak season for laying eggs. the way to Sukamade is worth exploring ..... wawan (www.bromoadventureland.com)3
Thank you to all that have respondedSo I think we have established that there is no public transport reaching Sukamade , so this may mean top dollars to go and come back from Banyuwangi to Sukamade
The information I found was that in the rainy season the road may be so bad that only access through embarkations were possible ; I was actually trying to find out whether there was access through Watu Ulo/Papuma . Anyone knows ?
Thanks

sure, i know about Watu Ulo & Papuma. let me know you as follow :back Sukamade to Saroongan = 2-3 hours --> Saroongan to Kalibaru = 1 hour --> Kalibaru to Jember = 1 hour --> Jember to Watu Ulo = 2 hours --> Watu Ulo to Papuma = 30 minutes. Uhhh, i think you will arrange "a hard trip" across the South of Java ... you need to massage after this trip

hi anjali ..... if we take the route from Alas Purwo National Park (it's meant we visit Alas Purwo National Park) to Sukamade, surely we across Pesanggaran Village then to Rajegwesi Beach, afterward, arrive Sukamade Beach with across amount of rivers, so, we must drive by Jeep 4WD. If it's rainy and flood, please not too worry caused we can drive by traditional boat (no engine) operated by local people. And, there's no boat Sukamade to Watu Ulo, just land transport Sukamade -> Saroongan -> Kalibaru -> Jember -> Watu Ulo -> Papuma8
If you want to go to Sukamade see the turtles , I would suggest you contact BromoAdventureLand at http://www.bromoadventureland.com/ ; The help was tremendous and the price competitive compared to other operators such as the folks from Kalibaru margo Utomo . CheersADVERTISEMENT
