tattoo in bangkok

Hey,

I am looking for a good place in Bangkok to get a tattoo. Nice graphics, clean work, but also good English. Any ideas?

Thanks

There's a good shop in Patpong a couple of doors down from the Madrid Bar. Go there and talk to Som, she speaks English.

One must always be careful globally wherever needles are concerned. I have seen good references for Bangkok Tattoo above and their website is in English so one must presume they can communicate in English and you can ask them the usual health questions prior to making a Tattoo there.

FROM BANKOK TATTOO's website: "We provide written information on how to care for your new Tattoo or Piercing and ointment or piercing solution to ensure it heals properly.

Bangkok Tattoo Thailand is committed to offering international standards by creating a friendly, relaxing, and most importantly, a clean atmosphere for its clients.

We always use new needles.
Our needles and tubes are kept in sterile containers.
We use an autoclave and ultrasonic machinery.
All materials used for tattooing or piercing are sterile packed and used only once.
Our artists wear new rubber gloves for every customer at all times.
Our artists maintain a high standard of dress and personal hygiene.
Our tattoo chair is cleaned and disinfected after every client.
Tattoo Holiday in Thailand

As a rule, always insist on seeing them open a NEW NEEDLE when it's time to start.

I wonder how many Thais get tattoos when they go for a holiday in Europe/Australia/Americas

And why do you wonder that?

People from Europe/Australia/Americas get Tattoos done here because they are a hell of a lot cheaper.

Really? That's the motivation?

Tattoos are not cheap so I guess the cost factors highly in to their decision to get inked here. Also gap year travellers and backpackers want something extra to remember their trip by.

I guess I just find it incredible that people will look to save a buck when they are permanently marking their body. Like sushi, tattoos aren't something you want at a discount.

Why is that incredible? In all our lives we are always looking to get a bargain. A tattoo is cheaper here because Thailand is cheaper. The lower prices for Tattoos doesn't mean Thailand tattoo practises are less clean than western or that the artwork or quality is substandard. The only difference is the price.

as I said, two things for which one should never look for a cheap price - sushi and tattoos.

Did you not read ABOVE? You doesn't make sense. It seems that you think having a tattoo here in Thailand for say 5000 baht is inferior as to the same one in the west for 10,000 baht. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE and NO REASON to pay more in the west if you know you will be travelling here and can PAY LESS for the same thing.
