15SIEM REAP to BANGKOK
I work Siem Reap and have always flown to BKK. However, this time I want to try the Road system. I'll take Taxi from REP to Border and then most likely train or bus...no mini-bus. I have heard about border crossing horrors. Whats is the latest suggestion for getting through border without scam issues? I'll have Taxi take right to Cambodian exit point. But from there...do I just drag my bags up the road to the Thai entry point? After entry into Thailand, where do I go then?

17I also work in Siem Reap and usually fly. Recently I went by car to see what it was like. I had a car take me there and another car waiting for me on the other side. The rental company also sent a guy along that looked after me so it was pretty easy. Not the cheapest way to do it, but completely hustle-free. I am willing to pay a little more for the sake of my sanity.

20most countries get 15 days (includes day of entry so technically only 14 days)Thai Visa exempt at Thai land border crossings, keep luggage with you its 2-3 hrs to border then 2-3 hrs other side to Bangkok excluding agents shoving you from bus to bus/minivan Thai side lol this can also take many hours Ha! Ha!

I am travelling from Siem Reap to Bangkok on Thursday 21st November and I want to catch a flight from Don Mueang to Trang on the same day. Last flight is at 17:40, so I need to be at the airport before 17:00.
I read here that the boarder is open from 8am, so if I take a taxi from Siem Reap at 5 o'clock (I assume it won't be a problem to arrange a drive if I ask a day earlier, am I right?) I could arrive at the border around 8am, let's take 30min at the border, so at 8.30am I am again back in thailand. I take a tuk-tuk to the centre of Aran and I am there at 9am.
Can you tell me where can I check if any buses go from Aran to Bangkok around that time?
Does it sound reasonable or is it too risky to catch a flight at 17.40?

23I agree with that Brax i left Siemn Reap 0730, this year for Koh Chang and only just caught the last boat to the Island, also if going direct to Dom Muang it depends if your araynaprathet bus goes to mochit or Eckmai if Eckmai take the Sky train and change to metro sukhumwit get off Phahon Yothit and take taxi last few kms quicker than struggling with taxi from eckmai through rush hour traffic OR if Morchit NE bus terminus then get off at Mochit and take taxi from here (although there are buses from Mochit BTS
