"What is the cheapest fare possible?"By train: 18 EUR. For regional trains (like RV 2107, Milan dp 17.25 - Venice ar 20.51. Reservation neither needed nor possible. Buy your ticket at the ticket machine and stamp it a a small yellow box before boarding the train.
