No problems getting visa for Slovak and Brit at Masnus Airport.

$50 single entry. There is someone there whenever an international flight lands.

Had no trouble as an Aussie. Kazakhstan a completely different story though.

When we arrived (August 2010) they wanted cash - which can be dollars or in som. If you don't have any, ask a guard to take you around to the ATM in the lobby, and try not to get screwed with by the taxi drivers. There's a minibus that should take you to the center of town for a tenth of what they'll charge.

There are no taxi drivers in the lobby anymore. The airport launched its own taxi service "Manas-Taxi". They charge according to the meter, normally it is 450-500 KG Som from the airport to the center of Bishkek.
