17Well ! I'm not so sure about that view of the match.... And what ever happened to video replays for kicks? We've had them in cricket for years! (Looks like France will walk away with it again...)
Anyway, great news PoP. Hope all well with you. I was recalling a lovely old pub in Oslo for some friends who are visiting, but couldn't remember its name??? Old, Nice food, garden....?
And if you want pics of penguins, please let me know. I have hundreds!!!!!!!!!!

18Peterscot, Please dont mention the word FRANCE in a World Cup year.
As a fanatical supporter of the All Blacks this word is a no no in our household.
All I can say is thank god for southern hemisphere rugby where we still run the ball and play running rugby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And yes PrincessofPenguins, Ill add my heartiest of congrats to the fray. Has he got a moniker?
All the best.

19Peter - a replay was really not necessary. Even through my Green and Gold tinted view it clearly seemed to be over. But that would have meant that the Boks would simply have had to exert themselves a little more for a few more minutes to get ahead before the end. They obviously did just what they needed to do and no more.
Simsy - I thought you were from that other southern hemisphre island. Now that England has adopted the darker shade of playing attire, will they also be adopting some form of Haka?

20Rudik, especially good to see you can still find the time and say gidday. I was born a kiwi and a kiwi I am to the day I die. Its just that I live, work and play in Oz.
I have to mention that the Boks is an old team, even older than the Blacks and they dont play well in N.Z.
Shitty England eh, get an original colour, hell what are they thinking.
We should keep this post open for the next six weeks and use it for a little rugby talk.
Any predictions on the last four any of you.
My choices are Blacks, Wallabies, poms and Boks in that order. Sorry, cant see the Scots or Welsh making the final four.

21I think Wales might surprise a lot of people. (Scotland won't!).
England - they are obviously cursed for choosing that strip. They deserve nothing for that crass decision. The Kiwis will perform as usual, perhaps getting to the final. But I think Oz or SA will be in there at the death with Fr@nce...
Good luck to all.

All is well here! You're thinking of Lorry (www.lorry.no). Great place, very traditional. It's one of the places I always recommend to friends visiting Oslo. We moved out of the city in May, so going to Lorry will be a rare treat now...
And I would LOVE some penguin pics!

24Princess - when are you and the Prince going to introduce Princelet to South Africa?
Presumably you have many pics of the African (Jackass) Penguins?

27I learned a lot about penguins this year. Magellan encountered them in Tierra del Fuego, and described them as flightless large geese, or simply, "food".
The first European to see a penguin was a Portugese sailor (Diaz?) in Namibia.
The only Antarctic expedition to express any positive comments about the taste of penguins....was the Scottish National Expedition of 1904! Everyone else found them disgusting. What does that say about the Scottish diet?
Pop - Thanks for that. I now remember Lorry, but that wasn't the one I was thinking of. It was a very old, cottage-like building away from the centre, in a seedier area. Very uninproved inside, but authentic old inn. Not to worry.
Pls PM me email address and I'll send / link to penguin pics. cheers
