Hepatitis A and Typhoid vaccines while trying to get pregnantHello!
Throwing a question out there to see if anyone has had personal or friend or medical experience.....
My husband and I are traveling to Guatemala later this summer for a month, and are currently trying to conceive. I know that the Hep A and Typhoid vaccines are recommended for all travelers to that area, and we plan to get them. I know that the Typhoid injection is better during pregnancy than the oral (live) vaccine (even though oral has a little better efficacy), and that Hep A vaccine "has not been studied on animals and the risk to pregnant woman or unborn fetus are unknown". I am not currently pregnant but hope to be soon.
Since there is no better MDHealth/WHO/vaccine official information regarding pregnancy and reproductive health surrounding these vaccines (ie obviously no controlled studies or official word), would love to hear any personal stories or anecdotes. Has anyone received these vaccines and then had trouble getting pregnant, or has anyone had the vaccines and become pregnant within the few months afterwards (or known anyone else in this category)? Any physicians who have seen their patients encounter this (either way)? Thoughts?
Thanks for the help!

1Here is a link I was given a few months ago on this forum
There is a lot of information that will be interesting if you get pregnant before travelling. Scroll down for the vaccine information.
As you mentionned, no clinical trials are done on pregnant women for vaccines. Remember that personnal stories that you might be told are anecdotic events and not scientific data. Asking a doctor is always your best bet.
''The benefits of vaccinating pregnant women usually outweigh potential risks when the likelihood of disease exposure is high, infection would pose a risk to the mother or fetus, and the vaccine is unlikely to cause harm.''
