Top 10 things to do/see in Bali and Lombok?A friend and I are travelling together to Bali and Lombok in June/July this year. We are going to Lombok first and then to Bali for the majourity of our time.
I would really appreciate any advise on WHAT to see and what is worth while DOING?
We are both 19 years old and have a relatively tight budget but want to make the most out of our trip.

1Step number 1 - buy yourself the Lonely Planet Guide for Bali and Lombok. It’s what I did many years ago when I started backpacking around Indonesia. Saves you lots of time and potentially money.
Use your LP guide to get a clearer idea of what you might be interested in, plan out a rough itinerary and then go with the flow. You will talk other travellers along the way and you may want to change your plans.
It really is a bit hard to give the advice you are after without knowing your interests. At 19 if you may want to party and have a good time and that’s it - then head straight for Kuta (Bali, not Lombok) or maybe the Gillis (Lombok). If you want to get closer to the more traditional culture etc then you will need to go the inland parts of the islands.

4The beaches in the south of Lombok are beautiful. You can still find many undeveloped pristine white sand beaches with turquoise waters and though there are a few more travelers on them these days than there used to be they are still much quieter and nicer than the beaches on Bali - some to check out are Mawun, Tanjung Aan, and my current favourite, Serenting.
Senaru at the base of Rinjani is a nice village with walks to three waterfalls. If you dont have time to go right north and spend a day or two there there is another good water fall, Beneng Stokel only an hour from the south coast.
The Gilis of course are also very popular for diving and snorkelling and Gili Trawangan in particular if you like to party.
As the others have said it is hard to make too many suggestions without knowing what is of interest to you. There are also temples, water palace etc to visit in Lombok but for me it is the natural beauty that wins out every time.
