NYC to Montreal

Hi

I'm planning a trip to Montreal from NYC. Does anyone know the best way to travel?

Which one is better, train, plane or car?

Suggestions...

What do you mean by better???? They are all good options. What exactly are you looking for? Scenery, price, speed??????

FWIW, I like taking the train. It is very long (11-12 hrs) but relaxing and scenic.

Private plane, with a limo at each end.

I'd go with the car. You can get the scenery of the train ride without it taking all day.
However, this assumes that you will return to the US to drop it off.

Everything is relevant. Perhaps MEGA bus would suit u from a price and ease of luggage and customs Bs. Flying so nerve racking lineups and security boondoggles. Plus luggage weight and customs hassles. Not counting extra cost once you land to get where you are going. All adds up.

#3, Megabus does not operate between Montreal and New York. The bus company is trailways. It is a possibility...shorter trip and more frequent departures than the train but also more expensive, less scenic, and less comfortable.

To bad. From Toronto to NYC by MEGA bus is real cheap. So if you can get to TO cheap check out Megabus price from there.I went to WashingtonDC and return $11.00 from Toronto MEGA bus

#6, Toronto is the only Megabus stop in Canada.

#6...not entirely true. Yes, Toronto is the only city with Megabus service from the US. But Megabus operates between Toronto and Montreal with a stop in Kingston.

Ah, my bad. I must have been looking at the US route map.
NYC to Toronto to Montreal would be one hell of a detour to save money.

#9, you're not serious??? We're talking 17hrs to go via Toronto vs 9hrs direct from Montreal to NYC. The direct trip, return, is US$139.
