The shops and food outlets at Doha airport are open 24/7. I am not aware of a hotel inside the terminal building (unless you are flying 1st or Business class where you would be using a separate terminal which includes small hotel rooms for free!) but on the upper floor there is plenty of space to lie down, specifically if you go towards the prayer rooms. What is a bit annoying though are the loudspeaker announcements which are like an eternal loop. Haven't been at Doha airport in 2010 so not sure if this has changed.3
The new arrival's lounge has a coffee shop where you can get some snacks too, but you will be transiting so you will be dropped off at a different terminal and you can go straight towards the departure lounge from the same terminal. They have a few restaurants though, but the you will have to just sleep in the waiting area.I think the hotel should be provided to you from the airline as you will be staying for 8 hours or you can avail the opportunity and get a visa to enter Qatar if you are from EU or the Americas. You can have a look around the town, roam the Corniche and eventually make your way to the departure lounge in due time.
Have a safe journey.

i 'll wait in doha for 8 hours too like solihull.I'll fly with air Qatar from istanbul to jakarta.do i need re-check-in in doha and controlled by border guards. And As far as i know airlines doesn't entitle ahotel room but i don't know exactly.7
If both flights are with Qatar Airways you can be sure it will not be necessary to go through immigration etc. At Istanbul airport, they will give you the 2nd boarding pass in a yellow voucher which indicates at which bus stop you have to leave the shuttle bus. You then pass through a security checkpoint and then enter the duty free area and departure gates area.If you are lucky enough to carry some specific credit card with you (e.g. HSBC Premier), you are entitled for a 4 or 5 hours free stay at the Oryx Lounge on the 1st floor. Saves 40 US$! Otherwise you may wish to contact Qatar Airways to find out it they offer any special treatment for long transits. Good luck!
