Thanks for the post.Interesting to see they opened a new connection after the Famagusta-Latakia connection was closed down for the winter (uncertain if it will be re-launched in May).
At prices of 90 € o/w / 120 € return plus 25-50 € for the cabin plus taxi/other onward transport from Tripoli to Beirut they'll have a hard time competing with buses which also run to route.

Hi George, nice to hear from you again!I have the same doubts as you about the viability of this new service. Truck drivers can save a whole day plus the Syrian border controls, but the price for that (at least 400 USD one way) seems really high.

I doubt it, since the link to Fergün (the shipping company) is included in post #1.Fyi:
13/12 - 1/4 The ship departs Mersin at 10 pm Moday, and departs Tripoli Thursday at 10 pm.
In the summer there are three planned departures per week (MO/WE/FR) again returning from Tripoli the following day.
I suspect port charges are less for Tripoli and that is the reason why they don't go to Beirut.
Fergün (the ferry company) can be reached at their office in Kyrenia:
Girne Yeni Liman yolu
Fergün Apt NO 1
Girne/KKTC (via Mersin 10, TURKEY)
Tel +90 392 8151770 - 8151870
Fax :+90 392 8151989
They also have a number of other offices which are sometimes staffed (and sometimes not). See the details at fergun.net

Here is the phone number for calling from Lebanon. 06628193.Their website doesn't have this number.
A few notes... One, they leave at nights not in the mornings as their website says. secondly, you need to give them your passport the day you want to travel so that you can get stamped.
I am not sure if they speak english or turkish, i talked to them in arabic.
going for the trip on monday.

My girlfriend and I are looking to take this ferry to Tripoli next Monday, and just wanted to confirm that it's possible to collect a Lebanese visa on arrival in Tripoli port. We're British citizens, so a eligible for visas on arrival, but I can't seem to find out whether this can be done at sea ports as well as land crossings. Any info would be much appreciated.Best,
David

Hi everyone,I'm hoping to travel next Monday night on this ferry from Mersin to Tripoli but I've spoken to the Mersin office and they seem to be saying that the ferry is cancelled.
Does anyone know if the ferry is running on the summer timetable next week and will be going to Tripoli next Monday night? If so, is it possible to book a cabin in advance or just book on the day?
Thank you for any help you might be able to give!
