Alcohol purchase in KLHi all,
Just have a few questions regarding alcohol in Malaysia.
Can you purchase alcohol at liquor stores/super markets?
How much does a bottle of Smirnoff or any other similar range vodka/rum cost?
Can we purchase them during the month of ramadan?
thanks in advance

1You will have no problem buying in the areas which are "less Muslim" than others, i.e. KL, Penang, Ipoh etc. Availability doesn't change during Ramadan.
But alcohol is very expensive, a bottle of Smirnoff could be RM100. Anything cheaper will probably be fake. Langkawi is much cheaper, but some of the stuff might be fake.
Local spirts are available, but some of them are awful.
Best to buy at a duty free before coming to Msia.

5Yes you can buy it in most supermarkets in Malaysia or shops. But alcohol in Malaysia is the second highest taxed in the world, so buy them at duty free.

7Not sure about KLIA, but Café Olé at LCCT is 24 hours. (It's near Tunes Hotel)
Fiddlesticks! You don't get thrown out (unless you're up to no good) and there are 24 hour food places, at least at Melbourne and Darwin airports.
