Prague to Ljubljana by train

Is it easy to take the train from Prague to Ljubljana, since I only speak English and will be my first time in Eastern Europe.
It seems that there will be many connections: from Praha hl.n. to Salzburg Hbf, to Linz Hbf ,and to Villach Hbf, Ljubljana.
I 'm afraid that I won't be able to read the sign on connections and get lost. I will be joying a tour at Ljubljana.

Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you.

If you are worried about connections, there is normally a direct Prague-Ljubljana overnight train leaving at 17:16.

Aside from that, lots of people travel around Europe all the time without speaking the local languages and get by just fine. If you aren't sure if you are getting on the right train, ask somebody.

As stated, as long as you're a bit outgoing and willing to ask for help you should be just fine. I'm at the tail end of a month long trip through Central / Eastern Europe that has included many train / bus trips and transfers. Although it may have taken a few folks, I found each time I needed help there were folks willing to help me out. Once someone even personally took me from the place my train let off to where I had to pick up a bus (Romania).

Have a great trip.

Use bahn.de to search for timetables: it lists a direct overnight train leaving Praha hlavní nádraží daily at 17:16.
If the train doesn't show up at eshop.cd.cz it simply means, that it's not bookable online.

There is a 39 euro (78 euro return) special ticket that goes Prague-Linz-Salzburg-Ljubljana, available for purchase 3 days in advance (unless the promotion sells out) on cd.cz. That will be a far cheaper, although more tedious, option than the night train. The scenery on this route is quite nice as well.

post 4 is correct - the direct night train exists but cannot be bought on line and consists only of sleepers.
