Air Asia Online Booking Problems

Hi. I have tried booking a ticket from Chiang Mai to Phuket on Air Asia via their website, www.airasia.com. I can get through all the pages without trouble, then when I hit "pay" the next page says:

Sorry. Regrettably your card has been declined. Please go back to the payment page and ensure that the information you entered was correct. Otherwise, please try another card or call our call centre.

I have tried three different Visa credit cards (two from Bank of America and one from Wells Fargo) w/ the same results. I even called Wells Fargo and they said I didn't have any restrictions on my credit card.

I even had my mom try to get the tickets on HER computer using yet ANOTHER credit card, w/ the same results.

Does anyone know what the deal is??

Thanks!

It could be a problem with their website. Why not wait a day or so and try again. Or call their customer service department. Also, see if their is a link to technical support, and see if you can send them an email.

This is a common problem. Do a search on thorn tree and you will find many similar questions, and possibly answers. It's happened to me but fortunately it accepted one of my cards.

have you gone through the 'verified by visa' thingy?
i was having AA problems until i did that.
in the meantime, one of those card denied was incorrect.
wound up with two bookings for the same flight.
emailed AA, they said no way to refund the purchase.
visit to AA at thaepae gate, the girls there cancelled/refunded.
be sure to check the 'manage my booking' page and your email
in case one of your purchases actually goes through.

Basically if you are dealing with AA Thailand - separate company - you are dealing with a bunch of no-hopers, who couldn't run a BBQ chicken stall without setting it on fire - good luck with your paying - if you are VERY lucky you might even get a flight to go with it.....but don't bank on it.

On the Review and Pay page, you must enter the exact card holder name and billing address. If your name on the card appears as "John Q Public" then you must type it exactly that way (no periods, full-stops, extra characters of any kind). Same goes for the address (must exactly match, no abbreviations like "St. or "Ave" or stray punctuation unless that's how it appears on your bank account - check a recent statement). If anything fails to match the payment will be rejected. At least that's what I've experienced. Try again.

Thanks all.

I have tried this on different days.
I have done the verified by Visa.
I have typed in my name and address EXACTLY as it is on my card and my fiance's cards.

I guess I'll try typing in a random phone number??

skibee11,
When we went to Krabi last fall we experienced the same problem on Air Asia. Later we ran into another couple that had the same issue. Apparently, it was a glitch with their website and B of A credit cards...another one worked fine. Good luck.

...and the bank account billing address with the same degree of detail?

Phone number must be country code, area code, phone number. No spaces, or anything else - just one string of uninterupted numbers.

Hope it works, but I have found the AA website to be very anal and uncompromising on such details.

Sometimes it is Air Asia, and sometimes the CC company declining the charge. CC cos. are very leery of airline charges, especially in SE Asia.

If my AA internet payment is declined, I usually call my CC co. and have them 'ok' the charge and then it will go through.

We actually called back to B of A when this happened and were informed they never rejected a charge from Air Asia. It was their opinion that it was AAsia's problem.

Often the mobile site works with foreign cards when the normal one doesnt. Ignore the non compatibility warnings and try.

If all else fails and you know your card works, get the cash and take it to any 7/11 store and do an instant ticket job.
