15Many thanks to both of you.
Yes, that is the hotel! How did you guess?... I was not aware that it was a well-known hotel, and I thought there were many hotels in the area - that's why I didn't mention its name...
Because I have never been to Kyoto (or to Japan, for that matter!) before, the maps look quite complicated to me... The train station looks like a huge place, and there seem to be a lot of streets there... So I wonder which way to turn when I get off the train!!! Perhaps there is a tourist information office inside the train station? Or any other place where I could get a detailed map of the city? (Perhaps I could get one at the airport even before I get on the train?)
Well at least now I know that we don't have to take the subway! I was almost sure that we had to get to the Karasuma subway station...!!!

17Ok, I'll give you directions to the hotel.
The Haruka train pulls into the track on the far west side at Kyoto Station. Upon arrival, keep walking forward until you reach the Karasuma Chuo Exit. On clearing the exit, you will face the bus terminal. Turn to the left, and walk until you hit the building of the Kyoto Main Post Office, then turn to the right, walk, then you'll reach the main street, Shiokoji Street. Turn to the left, and walk down three blocks until you get to the Horikawa Street, or Route 1. Turn to the left, and soon you'll find your hotel on your left.
I'd estimate the walk from the train track to the hotel will be for 10 to 15 minutes with luggage in tow.
Hope this helps.
