16It's called Alice's Tailor. Located on 3rd floor of Yashow Clothing Market, Gongti Beilu (North Worker's Stadium Street). Next to Sanlitun Village. Once you're in the market, get on the escalator in front of you to 3rd floor. Once you're on 3rd floor, from the escalator turn left, it's the last shop on the right hand side.
You will probably need to bargain. Tell them you're referred by a long-time customer. Last June I went to Beijing again for a week visit. I went to Alice's, got 2 suits and 6 shirts made. I got RMB1,000 for a 3-piece suit and RMB100 for a shirt. In total I paid RMB2,600, that equals to SGD510, which probably what one suit costs here!
I have skinny body type, so I did my homework first before going there. I want to have a suit that fits me and won't look like as if I borrowed my dad's suit. If that kind of look is what you're after, you should mention to them you want a short jacket, slim lapel, narrow arms holes, one or two openings at the back, types of buttons you want, pants that sit nicely on your hips and has a good legs shape (not tight, not balloon but fit). They will do the measurement based on your request. When it comes to fitting (once or twice depends on your timeframe), you can check whether the suit meets your need or not.

17I highly recommend
Jong Mee Distinguished Tailor
402 Orchard Road #02-20 Delfi Orchard
(+65) 6737 9300, (+65) 6737 1551
I made 2 suits and 3 shirts there and they were all very well made. I had 2 fitting sessions to adjust them to my personal preference (no extra charges at all) and they all fit me very nicely in the end. Their customer service was excellent and their prices reasonable too (1 suit was $550, another was $750) they told me it depends on the fabric I chose.
They also have a wide range of shirt materials and I could customise the inner collar and cuffs with unique patterns/patterns...my shirts (egyptian cotten) only cost me$110
Overall, very satisfied!

I'm starting to get rather impatient. I've stayed in Singapore the last 6 months, and tried to find a reputable tailor my entire stay, but I have yet to find one. Isn't there anyone who got a tailor them would recommend 100% without being hidden advertisement, which it seems like with Maohan.
As a sidenote. I'm traveling to Hong Kong for about 5-6 days in late december. Anyone have any experience buying a suit there? I know the price and maybe even the quality is better in certain areas of Hong Kong, but I do also know it takes time in order to get the suit made. So is 5-6 days to little?

20I have been travelling through Singapore for over 20 years and had some very nice suits made there. Good quality, nice workmanship. However, recently tailors started to cut corners in Singapore. Instead of the "proper" inner layer that gives a nice shape for the jacket for a very long time, they started to use "fusing". They "iron together" some inner layer and the material proper making the suit ready very fast, but after three months you can throw the jacket away since it looks like the dog has been lying on it, even after dry-cleaning. (My dry cleaner could not believe that the same tailors made my recent set of clothes.) I am in a process of reevaluating where and how I get my suits made - I will give one more try over there and will make sure that I ask them not to "fuse" the materials and stick to the old style high quality workmanship (that kept me there for a very long time as a customer).Pretty disappointed with the last set of jackets...and they were made at different tailors....so the practice is most likely widespread... In order to avoid disappointment may I suggest for all to clarify how the jacket is made, if you ever try to have one done there.
