Wondering about surfing in Cartagena? Cost on board rentals? Tayrona Good?

Any info would be good.

You can do it; but it is not good surf. I think you can rent boards where they teach kite surfing at the end of the beach. Tayrona has surf in Arrecife - no board rental.

A surf school has opened up on the other side of Tayrona.

I have seen pictures of nice waves on the pacific side

If you have some experience, Rio Burritaca has some surf. Last December there was some good surf in Cartagena. The waves went right onto the streets in Boca Grande. I don't know where all the surf boards came from but there were quite a few. Apparently, December - Januaray are the months where you can run into surf on the coast. You'd be much better to head out to choco. I've never been there but I work with a guy from there who says there's some good surf.

Unfortunately we`re not going to make it to the pacific side, not looking for monster waves, big enough waves in tofino(bc) just was looking to ride.
