Budget Accommodation Cahuita

Hi Everyone,

Heading to Cahuita tomorrow and was wondering if anyone can reccommend a good, cheap place to stay ($8-$15USD per person for 2 people). We are two 24 year old girls wanting to stay near the beach. We don't mind dorm or double, there just seems to be an overwhelming amount of places to stay so wanted some recommendations. I would normally search but the search function isn't working at the moment. Thanks!

For $20/room I recommend the Cabinas Safari. Great accommodation (1 double bed, 1 single, private bath, hot water) and the owner of the place is super nice. I got hit with a bad stomach bug and arranged for a taxi to take me to the clinica in the next town. Every day while I was recovering he'd come and see how I was doing. It's about 5 minutes from the national park beach or 15 minutes from playa negra.

Be careful at night on that coast, crackheads are desperate.

The internet wasn't working when I got here so I wasn't able to check on the replies. I ended up staying at Spencer Seaside Cabins which is lovely. It's right on the ocean, clean, secure, has fans and hot water and is quiet at night. I'd highly recommend it.

I am here alone now and haven't had any problems with security. It feels much safer here than in Puerto Viejo.

The weather has been off and on! I have had a few pristine days, a few drizzly days and yesterday, heavy rain all day. It's warm and sunny today with a few scattered showers and it will probably rain later. Puerto Viejo was the same- off and on. Hope that helps :)
