6there WAS another busline-but i think it was summer only and withdrawn by now.
on eurolines you can get much cheaper singles-ONLY if you prebook at least 6 or 8 weeks advance-on shorter time its also a little more-can be as low as 19 eur/single.
RYAnair flies Weeze (they think thats dusseldorf)-BER often for just 1 ct/but it will cost you at least 25 eur to get from AMS-train to Nijmegen-then bus-train-bus to that airport-and takes some 5 hrs.-so that makes the train (there is NO 39 eur train-some trains-if booked wisely-offer 39 eur seats) just as quick. NOW they do a special for singles FROM 31 eur-it used to be just 29 till halfway last year anyway-check ns hispeed-only offers dutch of course.

7If you insist on taking an overnight train, there is one. It leaves at 0:30 from Berlin Hbf and you will reach Amsterdam at 10:30 AM, providing the train doesn't get delayed. (Which often happens). I believe there is a day train between Berlin and Amsterdam every 2 hours. (actually it goes to Schiphol airport, but 1 train chance in Amersfoort will bring you to Amsterdam).

9Hi guys, I'm doing in January the same trip (from Berlin to Amsterdam), do you have any updated news on this route?
- is the bus (Eurolines, others?) the cheapest way?
- are timetables available online (is there a night bus)? Is it also possible to book online?
- do you know whether there are any special conditions (times changing) on January 1st?
