I got my bus ticket today for my holiday trip to Oman, I am leaving on the 26th unfortunately the morning schedule is full hence I have to take the afternoon bus which will reach Muscat at 9pm insha'allah. My concern now is the taxi ride from Ruwi bus station to my hotel in Grand Hyatt. How safe is it for a solo female to ride the taxi at around 10pm? How far is Ruwi to Shatti Al Qurm?Your advise and thoughts are badly needed!

Hello raine_09Oman is a very safe and hospitable country, for men or women. I took the same bus to Ruwi (a rather unattractive part of Muscat) then hailed a taxi to Muttrah. You will have no issue getting a taxi around 9 pm to Grand Hyatt.
Qurum beach area is maybe 15 mn away.
Make sure you visit the Muttrah corniche and the Walled city at sunset (see walking tour described in LP)....eery !!

Can someone please help identify the location of the ticket purchase on a google map and put the linky over here? Also is that possible to get the ticket early in the morning, say, 6.30am?
My friend and I are going to stay at Mutrah hotel so where will be the closest bus station for the ONTC bus to drop us at?
One last question, difference between ONTC and Comfort Line? Price, bus station, schedule..etc..please help..
Thanks for helping out guys! Really appreciate that

Hey,Quick question - I read that there is a 20AED departure tax leaving the UAE by land border - can anyone confirm if this is the case on the bus to Muscat?
I also landed in Dubai International Airport - can anyone confirm if this waives the visa fee for Oman, or do I need to keep my flight ticket as proof? Or does it even apply anymore?
One last question - when buying a return bus ticket with ONTC, do you need to set a date for the return trip?
Cheers,
