I flew to the states March of this year and have my ESTA approval until 04/12/10 - I'm going back there again in a couple of weeks but my ticket is being booked and paid for by someone stateside. Do they need to provide my ESTA number when booking my ticket or am I approved now until 04/12/10 regardless of how often I fly? Wasnt sure if ESTA approval number needs to be linked to each flight or whether its cool just to book ticket and turn up at airport. I seem to remember when I applied for it for my March flight I had to fill in where I was staying first night etc - if I dont need to re-submit that on-line form each time I fly how do they know that info? But if that was the case why would it be approved until 2010...?33
On my way to Central America I will spend one night in US. I have done the ESTA application and it was aproved. When I on this thread read that someone was refused entry and sent back home because they had overstayed on another visit I became affraid it will happened to me as well. I have not overstayed, but 16 years ago I and some friends rented a car in USA. When we were going to the airport we found a parking fine on the window of the car. We did not know what to do. We were already late, left the car at the agency at the airport and went to check in. Coming home two months later I thought I was going to find a mail with the fine, but nothing had been sent to me. Well, I then forgot all about it, but now I'm affraid I might be fefused entry to USA because of this. I have read lots of pages but can't find the answer. Does anyone knows?35
Although bzookaj is correct that no one can say - I sincerely doubt a regular parking ticket will be an issue. Also, are you sure that the car rental agency (who after all actually got the ticket since they go to a car) didn't bill your credit card? That is standard protocol for ordinary parking tickets (NOT driving ones).36
#35 I hope you are right and that my bank card was billed and the parking ticket paid. I don't know though if I had a bank card at the time or not.Another question:
There have been some changes in my ticket and I am now staying a night in Europe before flying to USA. When I come to USA I will not stay a night, but will just be in transit. Do I have to make a new application or can I just make changes in my old appliction: writing In Tranit in the address field insted of the hotel where I was supposed to stay?

Can this be changed to not be a "sticky"? Perhaps place it elsewhere on the site? It has become increasingly difficult to find the new USA TT threads due to the number of sticky threads at the top. Thanks.39
Hey bzookaj, thanks for providing so many clarifications. I just had my ESTA approved and was wondering about some of the issues raised so I came to the US Board.I think this thread should remain sticky until the ESTA and how it is a pre-requisite to the VWP is firmly established and understood by ordinary folks.

#39 says - "I think this thread should remain sticky until the ESTA and how it is a pre-requisite to the VWP is firmly established and understood by ordinary folks."That would be forever (my guess) since we still get frequent questions about the VWP itself. Perhaps this thread could be collapsed into a new FAQ and a reference included in the visible portion of the FAQ summary.

#40, the funny thing is, just about everything in this thread is already in FAQ 252. I have even referenced it a number of times to provide answers.People just 1) don't read, 2) don't bother to look, 3) understand, but are really asking to see if they can get around the rules, or 4) rarely, very rarely, actually asking something not in the FAQ.

Hi,Going to America on Friday. I was there this spring so I already filled out the online visa waiver form. Am I right in thinking that I only have to do that every two years? So the application I made in the spring is still valid?
I tried to log in to check the status of the “previously submitted authorisation”, but my personal details and passport number aren’t enough. I need the application number. I usually keep notes of everything like this, but I can’t find what I did with the application number.
Please can anyone advise me further? Thank you very much.
By the way, someone here is referring to FAQ 252. Where is that? On Thorn Tree? Or ESTA? I’m trying to find it but Thorn Tree keeps locking up and telling me “This site is having a ‘moment’”. This “moment” seems to be lasting ten minutes or more. So in response to comments about people not bothering to read available material, often it’s a lack of time that is the problem.
Thank you.

See post #23.Thorn Tree keeps locking up and telling me “This site is having a ‘moment’
Yeah, it's being quite the pain the last couple days.

Anyway, I'm sure it lasts two years....but now I'm wondering if I'll need the application number when I fill out the forms on the plane or when I get to JFK?
Please can anyone advise me further? Thank you very much.

I just wasted half an hour on this already and feel like I've made no progress.
Thank you.
